Water Entrepreneurship Event Volunteer for DC Startup and Tech Week
WaterCitizen.org 501(c)3 is seeking Volunteer Planning Committee Members for our upcoming “WATERPRENEURSHIP DAY” Program tol be held Wed. 10/21 at the historic True Reformer Hall/Lankford Auditorium near the U Street Metro - with several VIP Speakers involved in Water Entrepreurship including panels featuring Federal Agency Appointees and Civil Service program leadres; Corporate Water Sustainability Leaders; Water and Small Business Association Leaders.
Volunteer Planning Committee Members (including Students, Recent Grads, and those experiencing a Career Gap) will be RECOGNIZED in our Promotions and Program Materials - but ONLY if they show up to meetings and provide support for the event!
Volunteers needed ASAP to support Nonprofit Founder/Volunteer CEO with such tasks as:
- completion of Speaker Invitations using template provided
- follow up with invited speakers to confirm whether they are coming, what further information they require in order to confirm participation
- acquisition/development of speaker photos and bios for webpage updates and handout program
- requests for sponsorships to cover costs of cold lunch, program printing, certificate of insurance for venue, and other direct expenses
- development of graphics following instructions and templates provided for use of both WaterCitizen and DCSTW brands as well as brands associated with speakers (VOLUNTEER/INTERN MUST FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS)
- other duties as required
WORK CAN BE DONE REMOTELY!!! If you can get to DC October 21, that's great, but NOT REQUIRED!
VOLUNTEER MUST PROVIDE schedule of classes and/or work (including commuting time) and/or other time commitments as well as what times they are available to meet virtually to work on the development and delivery of this program, and to specify whether and when they would be available the week of DCSTW so we can schedule our meetings accordingly.
Volunteer MUST KEEP AGREEMENTS, completing work as agreed upon, providing regular updates and link to their work so that we can ensure completion of all necessary tasks before the event.
IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING AS PART OF AN ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP OR PUBLIC SERVICE VOLUNTEER HOURS, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL PAPERWORK AND DRAFTING AGREEMENTS WITH YOUR SCHOOL, ORGANIZATION (E.G. COURT). You must provide us with a copy of your Volunteer Contract if one is required by your school or other organization
